Consider Joining the Greater Oregon City Watershed Council Board of Directors!
The Greater Oregon City Watershed Council is currently seeking new board members to join our governing board. Our board members are the heart of our organization—they help guide Council policies and practices and work closely with staff to support project development, financial management, and meaningful public engagement.

What do board members do?
Board members play an active role in protecting and restoring the watersheds that support our communities. Board members provide strategic direction, share their skills and perspectives, and help ensure the long-term health and effectiveness of the Council. Board members also help plan and support volunteer stewardship events and serve as watershed ambassadors, representing the Council and sharing our mission out in the community.
The board meets bi-monthly and is organized into committees that focus on education and events, strategy, executive planning, and finance. Committee participation allows board members to contribute in ways that align with their interests and skills while supporting the Council’s overall mission.

Who can become a board member?
We welcome board members with diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and skill sets. Whether your strengths are in natural resources, education, finance, communications, community engagement, or simply a strong interest in watershed health, we encourage you to reach out. No prior board experience is required—just a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute.
If you are passionate about local waterways and want to make a tangible difference in watershed health in the Greater Oregon City area, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us to learn more about becoming a member of our governing board and how you can get involved.
Together, we can continue to protect, enhance, and care for the watersheds that sustain our communities.
